Pearl Street Mitts

These fingerless mittens feature a woven-like texture that is easy to knit and does not roll – so there is no need for a ribbing! The thumb gusset increases are worked in the center of the thumb so they do not disturb the texture. A sewn-bind-off is used to mimic the longtail-cast-on. If you use a (handdyed) yarn with 2 colors in longer segments, the stitch pattern forms little circles without having to do colorwork. The sample was knitted using Ancient Arts’ colorway Prairie Flower. 50g is enough to make one pair in the given sizes, so why not knit one for yourself and one for your best friend?
