The Pine Croft Fingerless Mitts pattern is a fun design for knitters interested in honing their skills at stranded knitting in the round. It calls for medium-weight 100% Icelandic wool that works up easily, producing a cozy, light-weight barrier against the cold. This design is also perfect for using up stash yarn! The pattern includes written instructions and a chart for each size.
I’ve named this design after my grandparents’ summer home, “Pine Croft”. It was an old settler farmhouse built in the 1880’s on a point overlooking a beautiful lake in Muskoka (Canada). My grandfather planted many white pines there, which have grown into tall, majestic trees that still stand today.

18 sts and 20 rounds to 10 cm (4 in) in stranded st st pattern on 5.00 mm (US 8) circ needle.
