Most striking worked in two contrasting colours, this beanie can also be knit in two similar colours, or even in a single colour - since the stitch pattern does not rely on colour alone for its impact.
Pixel was named because of the pixellating effect of the strips of garter breaking into smaller and smaller pieces and exploding upwards. DK yarn and 40cm circulars were used with a longer cable for the crown shaping section and magic loop.
The hat works up quickly and will make a great winter gift. Fits most older kids to adults but to knit a larger size, try 3.5mm needles, or 4mm & heavier yarn, working the pattern as written.
