It's no secret that I adore old quilts, and you can usually find a few in the cozy corners of our home. Some hand stitched by our families long ago, some I've hunted down at estate sales, and a few I've sewn myself. By far my favorite block designs are simple stars. For this design I wanted to combine these two crafts to make a pieced bonnet, with all the charm of a cozy old quilt, and the warmth and softness of wool!
It's knit up in heavy fingering weight yarn, on size US 3/3.25 & US 2/ 2.75 needles.
The bonnet is worked flat, and pieced all in simple garter and rib.
