Scandent Sweater

“Scandent” is a horticultural term to describe plants with a climbing mode of growth. In addition to the cables vining up the sleeves are sophisticated touches like the split hem, A-line shaping, and tubular edges, which all combine to create this warm and cozy sweater that is a delight to wear. The Scandent Sweater is knit from the top down with a circular yoke construction. Short rows are added to improve the fit. After working the yoke, stitches are put on hold for the sleeves while the body is worked. The hem is divided and each side is worked flat. After working the body, the sleeve stitches are picked up and worked in the round.
