If you've mastered the knitting basics, you're ready for laces. This BIG 72-page pattern includes 60 lace and eyelet samplers, and you decide which ones to use in your scarf. Each lace pattern has its own page with written instructions, chart and photo.
All of the laces have been adapted for simple knitting. They require just 4 shaping stitches: YO, K2tog, SSK or SKPO and S2KP2 (double decrease). The placement of these stitches create all of the samples in this series.
In addition, all lace shaping occurs on the right side of the fabric only. The wrong side is just purl, or knit/purl. And all of the samplers are 31 or 32 stitches wide and about 40 rows deep. Knit one or two samplers a day and in no time your scarf will be complete. (An average 5' long scarf requires about 10 samplers.)
This project is meant to be fun, as well as a creative learning experience. You're the designer. You select the yarn. You choose the laces. You determine the length. Your results will be spectacular!
