This cardigan solved a problem for me: a sweater is usually too warm and a cardigan needs at least one button if it is too cool but I never manage to sew on the buttons. For this cardigan I have solved this with a double-knit band across the chest, which holds the cardigan together. Thanks to the double-knit inserts, and a combination of stockinette and reverse stockinette stitch pattern, this design is reversible. No matter how I take it off in the evening, I can put it on again in the morning and it is never wrong.
