YOU MUST USE A FELTABLE WOOL YARN.
Finished Size: 14" from center bottom to top edge; 9" in diameter.
You will be knitting with one strand of main color and one strand of contrast color throughout. I suggest using one variegated yarn and one solid color yarn. Bag is knit from the top down.
#1 You can use smaller DPNs to finish the bottom of the bag to make it a tighter fabric less permeable to small items, i.e. knitting needle tips or pens and pencils.
