These longies are designed to be used over cloth nappies/diapers but if you leave out the short rows you can use them over disposable nappies/diapers or normal underwear. They are designed with 0-1”/0-2.5cm negative ease in the waistband to provide a nice snug fit. The ribbing on the waistband will be stretchy so they will be comfortable with an I-cord threaded through to help secure them. The hips have 1-2”/2.5-5cm of positive ease built in to help avoid leaks from compression wicking and also to allow a little room to grow. If you would like to make a custom fit there are instructions at the end of the pattern explaining how to go about this. Included in the pattern are suggested leg length for shorties or crops and 6 options for finishing the leg including ribbed, garter, moss stitch and ruffle.
