Gauge 4.5 sts and 8-9 rows per inch in garter stitch Note: A firmer fabric is preferred for this cardigan, to make the stretchy garter stitch hold together nicely. I recommend using a thicker aran weight yarn with smaller needles when working out your gauge. If you prefer a softer fabric with more drape, use worsted weight yarn.
