Speculation

Speculation© is a circular knit pattern designed to be made from wool or wool blended yarns/fibers. Adjustable for three sizes, instructions are given for Small (86 rounds), Medium(122 rounds) and Large(158 rounds). A looped knit finish and bind off is provided and included in the round counts.

Shawls, blankets or table coverings can be produced with a functional knowledge of basic knit lace stitches. This is an intermediate project.

The featured “Speculation” was made using size 4(US) needles. 1400 yards of 100% Hand Dyed Merino Wool in a lace weight will produce a similar finished project.

As with most circular projects, the needle and yarn size will determine gauge and finished diameter. Needle and hook sizes are optional and will affect the finished size of the project. Use the size you are most comfortable with according to the weight of yarn you have chosen. Most yarns have needle/hook size recommendations on the labeling.
