Star spangled cap

You may ask why me - a Franconian drafts such a hat? First: I love blue, red and white. Second: the fact that I'm an American TV series junkie may have something to do with it :)

And then seeing the American flag in so many American TV series the idea about knitting it on a Fair Isle hat just tickled me...

Thanks to Christine for testknitting it for me and allowing me to use her pictures. You did a great job!

It has a two color dotted ribbing and bands of red and white stripes and tiny white stars on a blue background. Right at the top is a tiny white star, too... surrounded by many others..

You can also knit a scarf or a cowl from the pattern by casting on more stitches and knitting it in the round. You could also make the stripes smaller. You can knit some patriotic socks ... :) Whatever you do ...
