I love cat hats, and I believe they are one of the most fun hats to make. However, it’s very hard to talk about cat hats without politicizing them. I do my very best to side step the issue, but it isn’t easy. I can’t not show them or play with them....especially when I declared the cat hat to be my signature product back in 2015. So I thought rather than having a fun knit polarize us, wouldn’t it be better if it brought us together?
So that’s my inspiration for the Star Spangled Kitten. I hope she reminds you to smile and to remember we’re all on the same team. Knit with pride and wear with joy.
Because this pattern has a little colorwork in it, we wrote it to be one size, but you can size it up or down in increments of 4. But because of the way it's constructed, it fits just about everyone as is.
