A felted hat can be a stylish and affordable way to create something unique and functional that is comfortable to wear three seasons of the year. Knit in the round in stockinette stitch, it's not a difficult project and felting only takes about half an hour in your washing machine. Once felted, the wool is easily shaped into your preferred style, which may be a pork pie, bowler, or cloche--all classic and classy-looking hats.
Much of the sizing is due to the length of time the hat is felted and how it is shaped while drying.
