Switchback Leggings

These lovely leggings will keep your legs toasty warm all winter, and the lace motif will remind you of the scenic switchbacks that criss cross a good mountain hike with elevation gains. The gentle 2x2 cables mimic the twisted grains of the trees that grow on the mountain side, and the button plackets make the leggings so versatile! Tuck them into your boots buttons up, or wear them buttons down as a sort of cozy set of spats! Two sizes are written into the pattern, but play with gauge for even more flexibility.

Samples are worked in Brava Worsted (smaller size) which used 2.5 skeins and Wool of the Andes Worsted Superwash which used 3.5-4 skeins. The pattern indicates where to add repeats to create more length if you'd like longer leggings.
