Produktdetails
Inspired by the motto & coat of arms of Glasgow based on the life & miracles of St. Mungo, aka. St. Kentigern: Here’s the tree that never grew, Here’s the bird that never flew, Here’s the fish that never swam, Here’s the bell that never rang.
The blanket uses architectural elements & broad strokes of colour to create a distinctive repeating motif which draws on the images present in the above rhyme. The Kentigern Blanket is knit in the round, steeked & finished with a steek sandwich/i-cord edge. The pattern is modular with two inset motifs. Full charts for the colourwork sections are included.
Pattern Format Colourwork motifs are fully charted. Written instructions cover cast on/off, steeking & borders only.
Original sample knitted with Jamieson & Smith 2 Ply Jumperweight (shades 1A Cream, 5 Dark Brown, 122 Warm Brown, 28 Gold) & Shetland Supreme (shades 2006 Gaulmogot, 2008 Katmollet, 2007 Sholmit). Approximate colour matches are shown on this page using Jamieson's Shetland Spindrift.
