This is a basic pattern for ladies Toe up socks. This style of socks is greatly favoured in the US but we don’t see them so much in Australia or the UK. I read through many patterns and looked at a lot of heel designs before deciding to keep the heel exactly as I would for a Cuff down sock. This makes it much easier for both beginners and knitters used to knitting cuff down socks. The main advantage as far as I can determine is that there is no grafting of the toe as this is where you begin. I have designed this sock to begin on two needles, and then move to a set of five. The stitches are on four and you have a working needle and then change back to a set of four and proceed in the more traditional method. The reason for this is so that you can clearly see where you increases are and keep them very neat and even and then when you come to work the heel flap your stitches are already set up on one needle. Naturally you can choose to elongate the foot or leg but there was not a great deal of yarn left over from the 100 grams so if you are keen to make a knee length pair for example you may need to purchase another skein of yarn. If you have not tried making toe up socks before give them a go,
