This pattern is double knit. Double knitting has the advantage of creating a reversible, soft, and thick fabric and allows for beautiful reversible colorwork. Many Fair Isle patterns work beautifully in double knitting, and indeed, that was the inspiration for this scarf.
It calls for equal amounts of two different colors of yarn; I strongly recommend using two colorways of the same yarn.
The final product should be approx. 72x12 in (185x31 cm). The pattern includes instructions for changing the dimensions., should you prefer.
