Inspired by my favorite band for the last 25 years, 311. The Tune In blanket is fast, fun, and beginner-friendly. If you have always wanted to weave something, this is the blanket for you!
Requires chain, single crochet, and double crochet stitches. Includes a photo tutorial.
dk weight yarn (light, category 3).
You will need about 1,770 yards (1,620 meters) of yarn. You can use any yarn you like. Use the hook size recommended on the label.
The sample blanket used 3 cakes of Lion Brand Mandala yarn (100% acrylic; 590 yards (450 m) per 150-gram cake) in the colorway Sirens.
Two cakes are used for the blanket base (1,180 yards / 1,620 m) and the 3rd cake is used for the weaving strips and border. You can use scraps for the weaving strips and border if you prefer (see pattern for yarn requirements). Add a new cake whenever the old one runs out. Go with the flow of color changes- no cutting or controlling of colors needed.
