Unforgettable Hazel 100th Birthday Blanket was designed as my birthday gift for my husband’s Nanny, who reaches her 100th Birthday at the end of July 2017.
I decided to design a blanket for her which would be warm and soft but lightweight, so it would drape nicely without overwhelming her. As she is a tiny lady and increasingly frail, I didn’t want her to feel like she couldn’t move.
The blanket needed to be suitable for her to use with her wheelchair without getting caught in the wheels, but large enough to be able to tuck around her, if she is sitting watching television.
My finished blanket measures 36 1/2” width and 24” height, but could be easily customised to any size using the multiple given.
The pattern has two sets of complete instructions so you have the option of following either UK, or USA crochet terms.
You will require 3 skeins of Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable to make the same size blanket.I used the colour Tidal.
