This is a pattern for a lacy shoulder cowl. The finished cowl measures 10 inches X 56 inches/The lace cowl can be worn as a spring garment, draping over your shoulders in a way that won't fall off. Or it can be made to be warmer, by wrapping it around your neck and shoulders, as seen in the pictures. The lace stitch is a very open one, so it is suitable for at least three seasons, in addition to being very feminine. The lace stitches are both charted, and written out line by line. There are also instructions for an optional crocheted edging. Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a good working knowledge of both knitting, purling, and lace knitting.) The yarn used in the sample is made with Fleece Artist's Merino 2-6 in colorway Rose and requires only two skeins of it.
Most heavy fingering weight of sport weight yarn yielding a gauge of 5 1/2 sts/inch on about a size U.S. #5 (4.00mm) needles will work with this pattern.
No crochet hooks needed in you opt not to make the edging.
