These cuff-down socks were inspired by Dutch style fishtail braids (test knit in all 3 sizes). Three different styles of braided cables are incorporated for variety and interest, with a stockinette toe for comfort. Vissenstaart Socks feature a cabled heel flap with slipped stitches for reinforcement and a gusset. Socks were knit in one of my favorite indie-dyer’s (NOUMEA) variegated yarns as well as a solid to help you choose a yarn for yours!
Skills required include: cables on RS & WS, picking up stitches, short-row shaping, decreases, kitchener st. Thanks to Dominique, Jennie, Larisa & Ellen, my fabulous test knitters!
