This is just another pattern especially for men (remember: not too fancy for him, not too boring for me!) but can be worn by women as well.
For these directions I assume you know how to knit socks. You choose the length of the cuff ribbing, your favourite heel flap variation and your favourite toes. You choose yarn weight, colour and try your gauge as you like.
I cast on 72 stitches for German size 46 which is 11 in UK and 13.5 in US.
