The design has three options: a short cowl, a long cowl, and an open scarf. Instructions are provided for each. The design can also be easily knit to a desired length.
The openness of the stitches evoke clouds lit by dawn on the one hand and, in line with ongoing conversations concerning racism and white privilege, a willingness to listen openly. The diagonal lines evoke rays of sunlight as well as movement. Although this is a simple two-row pattern that becomes intuitive as you knit, it does require deliberate attention on both rows.
