This colourful cowl combines a straightforward lace pattern with a textured chevron in four colours.
The suggested length is just long enough to wrap twice around your neck. To make it longer, simply work more repeats of any (or all!) of the four main sections.
The finished cowl measures 23 cm / 9 inches wide and forms a loop that is 110 cm / 43 inches around.
The sample cowl was knit with Custom Woolen Mills Ltd Mule Spinner 2-Ply 100% Wool, which is made on a 100-year old mill in Alberta, Canada. For a similar look, choose an aran or heavy-worsted wool yarn that has a lot of texture.
The pattern requires 225 metres / 248 yards of the main colour, and 55 metres / 62 yards of each of the contrast colours. The pattern gauge is 16 sts / 10cm or 4 inches.
