Willow Trees are not only graceful, they offer refuge for many creatures, such as birds, butterflies, and viceroy. The stitch pattern in Whispering Willow represents creatures flying to the Willow tree for safety from predators. This shawl doubles beautifully as a scarf for cooler months.

- all rows are written with stitch count provided
- short rows are used in pattern; however without wrapped stitches. So if you have been scared off with short rows because of “wraps and turns,” this pattern is for you
- short rows are achieved using either knit or purl 2 sts together
- adventurous beginner - intermediate knitter
- some knowledge with cables is helpful; however, the cable band section is not complicated
- cable cast on and 2 st I-cord bind off are recommended for added stretch but NOT required (instructions for both techniques are included in pattern)
