Basic cable, going in the same direction, combined with knit and purl stitches, makes this the perfect first cable blanket pattern; an easy pattern to remember, once established. You can choose either an 8mm (US11) or 9mm(US13) and chunky yarn of your choice to create a blanket that is more lightweight (8mm) or a little more warmth with the 9mm needles.
