Gradients---So much fun! After seeing the Katia Ombre 6 packs I designed this shawl with a couple of things in mind, have fun with the color, minimum wastage, ease of blocking. I used 2 packs of the Katia to get a good size shawl, 19" by 83". That works.
The cast on is 354 stitches, very manageable. As I came to the end of a skein I simply wet-spliced the next in. No wastage, No weaving 24 loose ends. I averaged 14 - 15 row per skein and have included areas in the pattern for adjustment depending on your knitting tension.
Block to get the most out of the yarn, show off stitching, and get the dimensions. Slipped stiches at start of each row and a row of yo/k2tog at the top make it easy to weave in blocking wires.
#5 Circular Needle, 24" is the only other thing you will need.
Shawl is knit from the bottom up, no seams. Pattern is chart only.
