This beanie pattern can easily be ajusted to any size from baby to large adult. Schematics are included for 6 sizes in this range. The beanie can also easily be made as a slouchie.
You can use any yarn and any gauge, though I do not recommend the lightest yarn weights.
Pattern includes both chart and written instructions.
NOTE: As this pattern can be adjusted to any size and any gauge, there is no given number of sts to CO, but explanations for three different ways to determine this number. It also has schematics for all six sizes.
