The effect looks like plaid, you can experiment with subtle or dramatic yarn combinations. Two patterns for the price of one - a cute beanie hat and a neck warmer cowl. You can knit the cowl in any size you'd like the pattern is very easy to change. The hat pattern includes instructions for a small to medium hat and a large hat. The hat and cowl are knit in the round, so it is also a good pattern to practice this technique.
